On January 28 we received a visit in our plant in Szolnok by the Hungarian Ambassador in Madrid, Mr. Odrobina László.
During the meeting he was extremely interested in knowing how Grupo Segura is managing the digitalization of the group by starting this activity and using it as a pilot plant for its facilities in Szolnok (Hungary), so that it will soon become the Technological Headquarters of Grupo Segura.
After presenting the most relevant points of KUMO and during his personal visit to the factory, Mr. Odrobina László was able to verify how some of the disciplines that have already been implemented in the framework of this ambitious digitalization project are having a decisive impact on the performance and productivity of the Hungarian plant. The Ambassador commented that “Everyone talks about digitalization as something abstract, but here in Szolnok, you can perfectly appreciate how ideas and concepts are transferred to the plant and favor competitiveness and the creation of quality employment, providing for it of Hungarian talent. Congratulations Grupo Segura! ”

The company VALENCIANA DE ESTAMPACIONES ENSAMBLADAS S.L., has been beneficiary of the help of the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE) in matters of energy saving and efficiency, in the SAVINGS AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN THE INDUSTRY program, for 2018, with an equivalent grant of € 10,629.35.

The project developed, with file number E4IN12 / 2018/91, involved the investment in a variable speed rotary screw compressor, which allows considerable energy savings in production.

“Project co-financed by the FEDER Funds, within the Operational Program of the European funds for regional development in the Valencian Region 2014-2020.”

This statement summarizes and condenses the philosophy of the new investment program of Grupo Segura in Hungary and this is no longer about build more buildings but it is focusing on cutting-edge technology and State of The Art machinery.

After the brilliant ceremony held in the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 1st of march will be from now named as the Kumo day.

KUMO – Cloud in Japanese – is an integration of intelligent tools and applications through Cloud technology, in this aspect we are being pioneers in addressing the digitizing of the Group.

“We are fully entering into the fourth industrial revolution and this will bring many changes in our environment, both in the traditional management models and in the manufacturing habits. It will also generate big changes in consumer habits, affecting the industry accordingly. It will not give reaction time to those companies that do not transform immediately, and will offer a competitive advantage to those that do it properly. We must, as soon as possible, recognize that we are facing the most important change of the modern era, and understand that the digital strategy that we define will be the key factor for the success of Grupo Segura.

The digitization of the industry will have a greater impact on labor-intensive economies, producing very important improvements in the industrial environment in very short periods of time, helping to recover the lost competitiveness in costs.

Industrial enterprises will need to incorporate a new talent, digital and human talent. This new talent seeks modern work environments characterized by dynamism, agility, initiative, autonomy or flexibility. Its incorporation, therefore, supposes a great effort of change in the traditional organizational model of the vast majority of industrial companies. Technological institutes, universities and training schools are going to be key for the development of Hungary and its enterprises.”

These reflections were the guiding thread of the speech given by Francisco Segura, president of Grupo Segura in the event of the official communication of this new technological investment, that, on the other hand, have led Grupo Segura to consider as essential, the signing of specific collaboration agreements with Hungarian institutes such as: IPAR 4.0, SZTAKI, Hungarian Academy of Sciences, EPIC InnoLabs, Universities and other Hungarian organizations with which we are already working on specific projects.

From here, we would like to thank to all the members of Grupo Segura for believing in Kumo as a tool for change, and to thank particularly to the Hungarian Government and HIPA for the treatment received during the process prior to the decision making, key factors for Kumo to speak Hungarian today.

As In previous years, the Association of Owners and suppliers of the Industrial Park (APPI) maintains its social commitment and continues with the initiative that began last year to carry out a sports and solidarity event that this year has supported two causes: on the one hand, the “Causa María Moreno, for Pulmonary Hypertension” and another one “The STXBP1 Syndrome”.

For this reason, on the 30th of september, took place the 4th edition of the 5 and 10 kilometers race organized by Ford Almussafes, APPI and Almussafes City Council, in the Juan Carlos I Industrial Park. More than 50 employees of GRUPO SEGURA, including our General Director, Mr. Jorge Segura, participated in this solidarity initiative that brought together almost a thousand participants.

It is important to mention, that the income of its fourth edition, which has amounted to a total of € 13,244, was destinated to finance various projects promoted by the Spanish Association of Pulmonary Hypertension and the Association of STXBP1 Syndrome, in addition to providing support to family members and patients.

In order to promote the participation of our employees as well, and promote the Social Responsibility of the Company, by participating in this type of events of sports and solidarity, the company paid the registration and a commemorative technical shirt to the participants.

Thank you for participating in this good cause, and we hope to increase the number of participants in successive years.

On March 19th, on the occasion of the Hungarian National Day, Ambassador Enikő Győri, on behalf of President János Áder, handed over the Knight Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit to Manuel Montalbán, CEO Deputy of Grupo Segura.

Manuel Montalbán, throughout his professional career’s years at Grupo Segura, has been a key player in the internationalization of the whole Group and start-up of the Szolnok’s plant.

This initiative was carried out jointly under the direction of the founder of the company, Francisco Segura Segura, who bet on the establishment of the Grupo Segura in the center of Europe.

Hungary is a country that always offers us its fully support, meeting all our growth needs and strategic initiatives, to position ourselves strongly in the market, always through the most innovative and cutting edge technologies and processes.

Additionally, and within the actions aimed at building bridges between the two cultures, Manuel Montalbán has continued promoting and thrusting by numerous activities in order to bring closer the Hungarian culture, participating in different economic and business forums, for that, both the Hungarian Ambassador in Spain, and the different Hungarian official bodies have shown their deep respect and gratitude.

During the last week we had the pleasure of receiving in Valencia the student Fanny Berényi, winner of the 1st Spanish concourse of the Verseghy Highschool of Szolnok, who was accompanied by Eszter Valyon, her Spanish teacher at the school.

During their stay in Valencia, they had the opportunity to learn about our activity by visiting our Burjassot and Almussafes plants, as well as our main offices in the Technological Park in Paterna.

Obviously, they also had moments to taste our wonderful gastronomy as well as to visit the most emblematic places of our city.

This initiative is part of the commitment and responsibility social of Grupo Segura to support the development of the communities according to the values of our organization.

Grupo Segura successfully passes the audit of the ISO 27001 quality certification in Management Systems.

ISO 27001 is an international standard issued by the International Organization for Standardization that describes how to manage information security in a company. ISO 27001 has become the world’s leading standard for information security.

Its central axis is to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the information in a company, based mainly on risk management.

Obtaining this certification of the norm we will comply with new legal requirements related to the security of the information, we will obtain advantages in the commercial area in the eyes of customers who are interested in keeping their information secure, our costs will decrease avoiding security incidents, and also a better organization by having our processes and procedures defined.

This certification allows us to place ourselves one step above other companies in our sector and to be one step ahead of the demands that customers will force us to meet in the near future.

On June 28, a collaboration agreement with the IPAR 4.0 National Technological Platform was signed in Hungary.This important milestone in Budapest was attended by our President, who will start, together with the other members of the mixed team of Hungarians and Spaniards, all the associated activities to implement this intelligent way of taking advantage of new technologies.
